Victims Sustain Multiple Injuries

According to Adeseye, the rescued victims include seven adult males, four adult females, and four children, all of whom sustained varying degrees of injuries.

Rescue officials and emergency personnel were still working at the site as of the time Akahi News gathered information, with fears that some individuals may still be trapped beneath the debris.

Ongoing Rescue Efforts

While the cause of the collapse remains unclear, officials have assured the public that a full investigation will be conducted to determine whether the structure was structurally compromised or illegally erected.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and other first responders are collaborating to ensure that all trapped victims are safely recovered.

Building collapses remain a recurring tragedy in Lagos, often attributed to poor construction standards and non-compliance with building regulations — a challenge that authorities continue to confront across the state.
