Atiku Heads To Supreme Court Over Compromised INEC Server


The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its presidential hopeful, Atiku Abubakar, has promised to challenge, at the Supreme Court, the rejection of their application to be conceded access to review the focal server supposedly utilized by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to transmit aftereffects of the last broad decision.

Responding to the Tribunal’s controlling, a senior individual from the Atiku and PDP’s lawful group, Chief Chris Uche, SAN, told Journalists: “The country was anticipating this decision and it is one that is critical to this issue.

“The Electoral Act itself engages the court to give access, for example, this to the applicants so as to organize and keep up a request, and that is the thing that we are requesting.

“By one way or another, at this stage, the court has ruled. In any case, certainly this is an issue we need to take higher to the Supreme Court to challenge this decision since we firmly feel that segment 151 of the Electoral Act qualifies us for approach these materials.”

On its part, INEC, through its legal advisor, Mr. Usman Uztaz, SAN, said it was happy with the decision.

“These are issues to be taken a stab at during the consultation, you can’t attempt them in piecemeal”, INEC’s legal advisor told newsmen.
