The case is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which accused the influencer of obtaining money by false pretence and stealing in connection with the alleged transaction.

Witness Explains How the Property Deal Allegedly Unfolded

Okeigwe, who testified as the first prosecution witness, reportedly told the court that he paid the money after the property was allegedly presented to him as belonging to Blessing CEO.

The property was reportedly leased to Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited for a period of five years.

According to the charge presented by the EFCC, the alleged transaction took place on or about March 21, 2025, when the defendant allegedly induced the company to part with ₦69,150,000 under the representation that she owned the property.

The prosecution alleges that the representation was false.

However, the allegations remain subject to the ongoing judicial process, and the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read to her.

How Police Officers Allegedly Arrived at the Property

During his testimony, the witness reportedly narrated an incident in which a man identified as Mr Tom arrived at the property with police officers and allegedly caused some workers at the premises to be arrested.

Okeigwe said he contacted Blessing CEO after the incident, but she allegedly told him that she did not know the man.

The witness reportedly told the court that he paid ₦100,000 to secure the release of his workers.

He further alleged that Blessing CEO continued to maintain that she owned the property despite the development.

The account formed part of the prosecution’s attempt to establish the circumstances surrounding the disputed lease agreement and the alleged representation of ownership.

WhatsApp Messages Presented During Testimony

The prosecution witness also reportedly identified WhatsApp messages in which Blessing CEO allegedly sent him photographs of the building as evidence of her claimed ownership.

He further told the court that he paid additional charges connected with the transaction, including agency, legal and caution fees.

Okeigwe maintained that the central issue was the alleged representation that the property belonged to the defendant when, according to his testimony, she was not the actual owner.

He also alleged that the same property was used in transactions involving another person who reportedly paid money to the defendant.

The court will have to consider the evidence presented by the prosecution and any response from the defence before determining the allegations.

What the EFCC Is Alleging

The EFCC arraigned Blessing CEO through its Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 on June 9, 2026, on a two-count charge involving the alleged obtaining of ₦69.15 million by false pretence and stealing.

The first count alleges that she induced Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited to confer a benefit of ₦69,150,000 on her by representing that the property at No. 1 Tunbosun Osobu Street, Lekki, belonged to her and was leased to the company for five years.

The alleged offence is stated to be contrary to Section 1(2) and punishable under Section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act.

The charges represent the prosecution’s allegations, not a judicial finding of guilt.

Blessing CEO has pleaded not guilty, and the case remains before the court.

Court Adjourns Trial Until October 26

At the conclusion of the proceedings on Monday, Justice R. A. Oshodi reportedly adjourned the matter until October 26, 2026, for continuation of the trial.

The next hearing is expected to provide an opportunity for further proceedings as the court considers the evidence in the case.

The outcome will depend on the evidence presented and the court’s assessment of the relevant legal issues.

The latest testimony has brought renewed attention to the legal case involving Blessing CEO and the alleged ₦69.15 million transaction over a Lekki property.

The prosecution witness claims that he paid the money for a five-year lease after the property was allegedly presented as belonging to the influencer. He also described an incident involving police officers at the premises and said he paid additional charges connected with the deal.

With the trial adjourned until October 26, the case remains unresolved. The allegations must be determined through the judicial process, and Blessing CEO remains entitled to the presumption of innocence unless and until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction.

Akahi News will continue to follow the proceedings and report further developments as they become available.
