President Muhammadu Buhari has extended the tenure of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu by three months.
Minister of police affairs Maigari Dingyadi confirmed this while briefing journalists at the Presidential Villa on Thursday
He said the extension was necessary to give room for the proper selection of a successor.
Mohammed Abubakar Adamu (born 17 September 1961) is a Nigerian police officer who is currently the 20th Inspector General of Police of Nigeria.
He was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari on 15 January 2019 replacing Ibrahim Kpotun Idris (rtd) of Niger State. Mohammed Adamu hails from Lafia, in Nasarawa State.
