A clerk, Tobiloba Ukale, 24, on Friday appeared earlier than a Tinubu Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over alleged theft of his employer’s items value N25 million.
Ukale, saddled with the duty of receiving items equipped, placing particulars of the products into the pc system and ensuring that the warehouse supervisor indicators the bill that got here with the products, is dealing with a cost of theft.
The defendant, a resident of No. 5, JC. Awo St., Ogudu, Lagos, pleaded innocence of the offence.
The Prosecutor, ASP Edet Okoi, instructed the court that the defendant committed the offence someday in Oct. at No. 2, Idita St., Lagos Island.
He stated that the defendant stole items value N25 million belonging to his employer, Mr Adekunle Moshood, the Director of Moshadek Firm Restricted.
Okoi alleged that the defendant diverted the products that Unilever Nigeria equipped to Moshadek.
The prosecutor stated that the offence contravened Part 287(7) of the Felony Regulation of Lagos State, 2015, which prescribes seven years imprisonment for stealing from one’s employer.
The Chief Justice of the Peace, Mr Tajudeen Elias, granted Ukale N10 million bail with two sureties in like sum.
He stated that one of many sureties have to be a guardian of the defendant and the opposite a civil servant.
