ADO-EKITI – Some workers promoted by the immediate past administration of Ayo Fayose without financial benefits have appealed to Governor Kayode Fayemi to revisit their plights.
The affected workers, acting on aegis of the state Public Service Negotiating Council, expressed frustration over the arbitrary promotion granted workers in the year 2015, 2016 and 2017 by Fayose administration.
In a press statement by the state chairman, Fatomiluyi Kayode and secretary, Gbenga Olowoyo, they decried the alleged foot-dragging of the implementation of the financial benefits of their promotions.
However, the state leadership of the Joint Public Service Negotiating Council believed that government is continuum hence, the present administration under Fayemi should use his large-heartedness to address the issue, among other issues, affecting the well-being of public servants in Ekiti State and commerce its implementation.
“As a matter of fact, the entire public servants are conscious of the readiness the present administration under John Kayode Fayemi to walk the talk in areas of commitment to clear all the outstanding salaries within one year of his term in office, which he has repeatedly said at different fora.
“The JNC promised on behalf of all workers in the public service of Ekiti State to remain committed to all cardinal programmes of the present administration to achieve this. JNC has proposed quarterly interface between government and Labour Union leaders in the public service: a platform that will fast-track resolutions of some outstanding burning issues affecting workers generally.”
The workers should exercise patience to allow the leadership of JNC work out robust negotiation in line with best Labour practices.
