SAUDI, ARABIA – Alhaji Muhammadu Bashir, the Director of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board, has said that synergy and team work among the Board’s employees and its adhoc staff was responsible for the success they have recorded so far.
Speaking exclusively to the Daily Independent in the tent city of Mina, shortly after Arafat and the stoning rituals in Jamarat, the director commended his staff, whom ensured hitch-free operations.

He said: “All grace goes to the Almighty Allah for making it possible for us to be here at this time to converge on this holy place. And since we arrived here in Saudi Arabia, we’ve not witnessed any challenge, everything is moving well”.
“On our arrival in Madinah, our Pilgrims were well accommodated, well fed, and we left Madinah to Makkah. Right now, we just completed Arafat and Musdalifa rituals, hitch free, and now we are back in Mina where the stoning rituals of Jamarat has been going on”, he noted.
On the manner in which the FCT officials handled Pilgrims Welfare in Madinah to the point of making life comfortable for non- FCT Pilgrims, the Director said the issue of taking the lead whenever there’s a need requires logical thought process, so as not to get things miscalculated.
“But somebody had to strategise in order to ameliorate a growing need for adequate welfare of our Pilgrims, and even those in the same place with us as you have rightly noted.”
