A 40-year-old woman found dead in an Atlanta, Georgia park in late July was reportedly stabbed at least 50 times and had the word “FAT” carved into her flesh, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has revealed. The journal also stated that an autopsy showed the victim, Katherine Janness had 15 lacerations to her head. Janness, along with her dog Bowie, were found dead in Piedmont Park on the morning of July 28 after the pair had gone for an early walk. They were reportedly discovered 100 feet apart.Medical examiner Dr. Karen E. Sullivan wrote in her report that she was of the opinion the “homicide” was the result of “sharp force injuries of Janness’ face, neck, and torso” that damaged major blood vessels and internal organs.Emma Clark, Janness’ girlfriend, went to the crime scene after using a phone app to track the victim and her dog.
