MMA fighter Cedric Marks could face the death penalty after being charged with killing two people.
Texas prosecutors are seeking the harshest punishment after two bodies were found in shallow graves 350 miles away from Marks’ home in rural Clearview, Oklahoma.
Marks has 31 MMA wins to his name and 13 knockouts, but things aren’t looking promising for the 45-year-old with the justice system in America.
His current partner, Maya Maxwell, 26, is also facing charges and according to an affidavit, she admitted being present when the victims were both killed and buried.
Furthermore, he was arrested for an outstanding warrant for allegedly breaking into Scott’s home in August last year.
Scott claimed the fighter had choked her until she lost consciousness – twice – and filed for a temporary order of prosecution.

In a court statement, she wrote: “Each time he allowed me to regain consciousness and then he choked me out again.”
Marks then managed to spark a nine-hour manhunt in Conroe, Texas as he escaped from a prison van after it had stopped at McDonald’s.
In addition, Minnesota police say Marks is also a ‘person of interest’ in the disappearance of April Pease, the mother of one of his children, who went missing in 2009.
Mark’s lawyer says his client looks forward to his day in court.
