Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Ibraheem El-Zakzaky ‘s daughter, Suhaila says her father is suffering from lead poisoning which could kill him at any time.
In an interview with BBC, Suhaila said her father deserves proper medical attention for his condition.
“I am really worried… especially because of the lead and cadmium poisoning,” she said.
“His doctors say if he gets to a certain level his organs could start failing and that’s really scary because that means he could just die at any moment. ”
She noted that her father told her that he was unhappy with the heavy presence of security operatives at the Medanta Hospital, New Delhi, where he is being treated.
On Wednesday, El-Zakzaky had raised the alarm that his condition in India was worse than a prison setting in Nigeria and that he was been forced to accept treatment from strange doctors.
However, the claims by the IMN leader were dismissed by the federal government dismissed, saying h had been behaving badly since he arrived India making unreasonable demands, including asking to be checked into a 5-star hotel.
