A bit over a month since his death, the Recording Academy has launched a brand new recording of John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery.”
The proceeds of the late singer’s track will help the MusiCares COVID-19 Aid Fund.
Prine, probably the most influential artists in people and nation music, died in April from problems related to the coronavirus.

In a tweet on Friday, the official Twitter account for the Recording Academy wrote: “We tragically lost music legend @JohnPrineMusic to COVID-19 problems. We will honor his legacy by serving to the music neighborhood by way of this pandemic. Donate to @MusiCares #COVID19 Aid Fund to assist creators get the help they want #MusiCaresForUs.”
The brand new recording options artists, musicians and engineers who are also elected leaders within the Recording Academy, together with singer-songwriter Christine Albert, Brandon Bush of Sugarland, John Driskell Hopkins of Zac Brown Band and Jeff Powell, an acclaimed Memphis engineer/producer.

Tammy Damage, vice chair of the Recording Academy and one of many contributors on the recording, stated in an announcement that Prine — a two-time Grammy winner — was recognized for his giving spirit and the brand new “Angel From Montgomery” recording is a tribute to honor that spirit.
On Thursday, it was introduced that Prine’s household and document label, Oh Boy Data, will current a web based tribute titled, “Image Present: A Tribute Celebrating John Prine” on June 11.

In accordance with the Tennessean, the celebration plans to “characteristic household and pals sharing reminiscences and songs whereas elevating cash for a number of charitable organizations,” which incorporates the Nationwide Alliance on Psychological Sickness and Alive.
