We gathered that Lagos Federal High Court on Thursday has indicted a previous acting Director-General Mr. Calistus Obi of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency. Akahi News learnt that He was accused of N136m misappropriation.
Equity Mojisola Olatoregun indicted Obi close by Dismal Alu, who was the second respondent for the situation.
The judge held that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission demonstrated the charges against them past sensible uncertainty.
In the eight counts recorded as a detriment to them, the EFCC said they plotted between themselves on August 5, 2015, to change over N136m having a place with NIMASA to their own utilization.
The arraignment said they acted in opposition to areas 15 and 18(a) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) (Amendment) Act, 2012.
In spite of the fact that Obi and Alu had upon their arraignment argued not liable, yet Justice Olatoregun, in her judgment on Thursday, sentenced them for the offense.
The judge deferred till May 28 to articulate her sentence.
She requested that the convicts be remanded in jail up to that point.
