In a time when leadership is increasingly measured by tangible impact rather than rhetoric, the administration of Governor Bassey Edet Otu in Cross River State presents a case that continues to draw attention and support from many citizens.

Since assuming office under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Otu has pursued a governance approach that prioritises infrastructure, economic revitalisation, and inclusive engagement. For supporters, this direction reflects a deliberate effort to reposition the state for long-term growth.

One project frequently cited is the 5-kilometre North Ukelle Road in Yala II State Constituency. Beyond its immediate function, the road has improved access for rural communities, enhanced the movement of goods and services, and created new opportunities for local trade. For residents, it represents a practical intervention that directly affects daily life.

Equally noteworthy, in the view of admirers, is the Governor’s leadership style. His administration is often described as accessible and responsive, with a focus on transparency and accountability. This approach, they argue, has contributed to rebuilding public trust and strengthening the relationship between government and the people.

Supporters also point to what they describe as a renewed sense of optimism across the state. The phrase “season of sweetness,” now commonly used in political circles, reflects a belief that governance is beginning to yield visible and meaningful outcomes.

Looking ahead to 2027, advocates of the current administration maintain that continuity is essential. They argue that policies already underway require time to mature and deliver their full benefits. In their view, sustaining the present leadership offers the best chance of consolidating ongoing development efforts.

For many, therefore, supporting Governor Otu’s re-election bid is seen not merely as political loyalty, but as an endorsement of a governance direction they believe is producing results.
