Senate President Ahmad Lawan on Thursday uncovered that previous Abia state representative, Orji Uzor-Kalu, congressperson speaking to Abia north, was his flat mate at the University of Maiduguri in 1980.
The Senate president made the disclosure during a supper facilitated by the Abia state congressperson in which Ovie Omo-Agege, delegate senate president, and a few legislators were his visitors at his Abuja home.
Lawan expressed gratitude toward Kalu for assembling the supper and said that legislators under his authority will join past partisan loyalties.
“The Nigerian venture is a task of the Nigerian individuals and not an ideological group’s undertaking and everyone must guarantee that it works,” he said.
“In the ninth senate, we are getting down to business together and we will convey works crosswise over partisan loyalties.”
Tending to his visitors, Kalu said the event was for the festival of triumph.
“No movement will be moved here and no movement will be approved here. All we are here for is to eat and drink,” he said.
