Asisat Oshoala single handily takes Barcelona Femini to the semifinals of the Women Champions League despite a 2-1 loss to Manchester City on Wednesday night.
The 26-year-old Super Falcons striker who was also on target in the first-leg last week, scored in the 59th minute to make it 1-1 before Sam Mewis put Manchester City back ahead from the spot but the Spanish club progress on 4-2 on aggregate.
It was the first defeat for Barcelona since January when they lost to Atletico Madrid in the Super Cup.
Oshoala has now scored four times in this season’s women’s Champions League as Barcelona will face either holder Lyon or Paris St-Germain in the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Oshoala and her teammates will return to action in the league on Sunday to face Levante.
