Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal is set to be out for two months after he damaged his ligament.
The injury has been confirmed by Real Madrid and the right-back is expected to miss around two months of action.
“Following tests carried out on Dani Carvajal by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to his medial collateral ligament in his right knee and his recovery will continue to be assessed,” read a statement released by the club.
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane will bank on Alvaro Odriozola for the next eight weeks, the former Real Sociedad defender started the clash against Real Valladolid in the midweek.
Real Madrid loaned Odriozola to Bayern Munich for the half of the previous season as a result of limited game time at the Santiago Bernabeu he is expected to step his game if he is to nail the vacant spot.
Zidane could feature the likes of Lucas Vazquez and left-back Ferland Mendy.
The injured defender will miss the El Clasico he would also miss other LaLiga fixtures against Levante, Cadiz, Huesca, Valencia and Villarreal and the first four Champions League group stage games.
Carvajal joins the likes of Eden Hazard, Eder Miliato and Toni Kroos on the injury list, it has not been the best start of the season for Zidane just like the previous season.
