Iranian President Hassan Rouhani extended his condolences to Pakistani government, Prime Minister Imran Khan and nation, as well as the families of the victims of the fatal crash of a Pakistani passenger plane.
“The crash of a passenger plane near Karachi Airport, which killed dozens of its passengers and the people of the region, caused great sorrow,” President Rouhani wrote in a message to Imran Khan on Friday.
“I express my heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Pakistan and the families of the victims of this tragedy, and I pray to the Almighty God for the health and success of Your Excellency and the pride and prosperity of the people of Pakistan,” the Iranian president added.
Meantime, Iran’s First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri in a message to the Pakistani prime minister late on Friday offered condolences over the fatal passenger plane crash.
The tragic passenger crash of the friend and brother country of Pakistan that killed its passengers has caused a great deal of grief, the message said.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Mousavi also sympathized with the Pakistani government and people over the deadly air crash in that country.
Mousavi expressed regret over the accident which resulted in death of scores of Pakistani citizens.
A passenger plane with over 100 people on board crashed in a residential area in the Pakistani city of Karachi on Friday noon.
While dozens are feared dead, at least six wounded have been taken to a hospital, but yet to be confirmed if they are crash survivors.
