Despite the widespread criticisms that trailed the performances of the likes of Maduka Okoye, Ahmed Musa, and Kevin Akpoguna in last Friday’s 4-4 draw against Sierra Leone, the trio have been retained in the starting XI for Tuesday’s second leg tie.
Many had predicted that Okoye who shipped in four goals against the Leone Stars will make way for Daniel Akpeyi but coach Gernot Rohr has stuck with the Sparta Rotterdam shot-stopper.
Rohr nonetheless made two changes to his starting XI as Victor Osimhen is expectedly missing and replaced by Kelechi Iheanacho while Zaidu Sanusi is also off from the left-back and Ola Aina brought in as the replacement.

Many fans have expressed their reservation to this starting XI but it remains to be seen if Rohr would shame his critics with this seemingly shocking selection.
