Hoffenheim defender, Kevin Akpoguna has expressed his delight and relief at finally getting his long-awaited Super Eagles debut against Algeria on Friday even though it ended in a defeat.
Super Eagles lost to the Desert Foxes of Algeria in an international friendly played at Worthersee Stadium, Klagenfurt, Austria on Friday, but Akpoguna, in an exclusive chat with Omasports described the experience it as a dream debut.

According to him, paramount before the team now is to qualify for 2022 AFCON in Cameroon.“I’m very impressed, very proud of it to be now part of the Nigeria team, looking forward to the next games,” begins Akpoguma.“Of course we lost today (Friday), but we played against the African champions, one of the best teams in Africa and we tried our best to draw, the last two minutes we had good pressure.
“Like I said it’s just a test game and I think the coach saw the things we can improve, and now we are looking forward to the next test game.“The most important thing is to get qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations.” he told Omasports.
