Former Arsenal striker, Kevin Campbell, has said the way manager, Mikel Arteta uses Thomas Partey, will determine which player they sign in the next transfer window.
Partey joined the club in a £52m move from Atletico Madrid on deadline day.
However, it is not clear yet if he will regularly be used as a defensive midfielder or utilized further forward as a playmaker.
The Gunners have been linked with Lyon attacking midfielder Houssem Aouar and Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi.
Speaking to the Highbury Squad on YouTube, Campbell said: “You could say, okay, if Thomas Partey is going to move a bit further forward, go out and get Ndidi to sit in there.
“No problem, but it just depends, you can either get an Aouar who gets further forward, or you get an Ndidi type so that Partey can do box to box.”
