Cristiano Ronaldo has slammed rumours about his future at Manchester United, calling them “lies.”
On Friday morning, Ronaldo posted to Instagram for the first time since reportedly telling Manchester United that he wants to leave the team this summer.
The legendary player from Portugal reportedly desires to play for a Champions League club.
The striker’s return to Carrington on Tuesday was accompanied by Jorge Mendes, and the two met with Ten Hag and the board to discuss his situation.
It’s been reported since that Ronaldo reiterated his desire to leave and that Sir Alex Ferguson intervened in a desperate bid to keep the Portuguese striker.
But Ronaldo has hit out at the ‘lies’ by responding to an Instagram account that cited the report.
“Impossible not to talk about me one day,” said Ronaldo.
“Otherwise the press makes no money. You know that if you don’t lie you can’t get people’s attention.”
