Stephany Chizobam Ugboaja and Favor Alozie, who each scored ‘A1’ in all topics within the 2019 West African Senior College Certificates Examination (WASSCE) have been rewarded.
Emeka Ihedioha, governor of Imo, on Wednesday, awarded them full tutorial scholarship to review in any college of their alternative.
The 2 college students, who’re from the State wrote the examination alongside over 1.6 million candidates in Nigeria.
Aic Akwarandu, particular assistant to the governor on new media, in an announcement, quoted Ihedioha as expressing pleasure on the feat.
“The gesture of sponsoring the students in any university of their choice in the country is a celebration of excellence and hard work”, he stated.
“The plan of the Ihedioha’s government is to make sure that we give the very best to our state and reward excellence and onerous work.
“We believe Stephany and Favor’s recognition by the governor would serve as morale booster to Imo students and will spur them to higher heights of achievements in years to come.”
In the meantime, former minister of education, Oby Ezekwesili, has showered reward on Ugboaja.
She tweeted: “Chizobam Ugboaja who scored an ideal WASCE result’s merely a queen!
“I’m immensely happy with this young woman who’s a task mannequin and an inspiration for educating the #GirlChild.
“Her light shall surely shine brighter throughout her journey of life. Rooting for you all the way”.
