Just like their male counterparts, Wizkid and Davido, the alleged battle for supremacy between female Nigerian music giants, Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage is no secret to fans across the world, and although many heaved a sigh of relief after Tiwa congratulated Yemi over the release of her album ‘Woman of Steel’, Yemi Alade has revealed that she may never collaborate with her colleague, Tiwa Savage, because she is not sure how fans would react to the project.
In a chat with Bolanle Olukanni on Ndani TV, Yemi claims that both her fans and that of Tiwa are the ones that keep steering trouble in their ways.

“It’s unfortunate that with the troubles that people keep steering in our ways, it probably will never allow us to ever have collaboration. This is because you’re not sure the outcome would even be positive or be overrun by negative things and all the fights. When we do music, we do it so people can be happy, so when we do a song together, what are we fueling? What are we encouraging? That’s the most important question,” she said.
Yemi Alade has, however, signed a global licensing deal with Universal Music Africa (UMA), universal Music Group’s West African affiliate, in partnership with Universal Music France (UMF).
The implication of this deal is that UMA will be the exclusive worldwide record music partner for Yemi Alade and her label, Effyzzie Music Group.
Taking to her Instagram page, she wrote:
“God is the greatest. @effyzziemusicgroup congratulations. @universalmusicfrance signs licensing deal with @effyzziemusicgroup for Nigerian superstar @yemialade.”
