Ajax chief, Edwin van der Sar has paid tribute to Manchester United’s latest signing, Lisandro Martinez, describing him as a ‘warrior’.
DAILY POST reports that Martinez recently joined Man United from Ajax this summer.
Martinez signed a five-year contract with Man United and became manager Erik Ten Hag’s third summer signing, following Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen.
The Argentine defender was officially unveiled as Man United’s player on Wednesday.
In a tweet via his Twitter handle on Wednesday, Van der Sar said, a Manchester United legend wrote: “What a warrior you have been for us in Amsterdam.
“We all loved your ability to develop yourself like so many others before you and play the football we like to watch but if needed the grit and determination in defence.
“Good luck at this amazing club with a manager that shares the philosophy of attacking football in the style of Ajax. Good luck, Licha.”
