Security operatives attached to the Anti-Bomb Squad have successfully recovered an unexploded bomb in Zugurma community, Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State, averting what could have been a devastating incident.

According to information gathered by Akahi News, the explosive device was discovered within the community, prompting immediate security intervention to prevent loss of lives and property. Residents reportedly alerted authorities after noticing a suspicious object believed to be an explosive.

Akahi News learnt that upon receiving the distress call, the Anti-Bomb Squad swiftly mobilised to the area. After careful assessment and safety clearance, the operatives successfully recovered the unexploded bomb without any reported casualties.

Security sources disclosed that the device was professionally evacuated from the community and taken to a secure location for further examination and safe disposal. The operation was carried out with strict adherence to safety protocols to protect residents and personnel involved.
