APC Leaders Demand Wike’s Sack Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities, Threats to National Authority
Prominent leaders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) have intensified calls for the immediate removal of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, over alleged anti-party activities and statements deemed threatening to national authority.
In a strongly worded statement made available to Akahi News, the APC Leaders Forum and the Tinubu Support Strategy Movement (TSSM) accused Wike of openly undermining the party’s interests in Rivers State while serving in an APC-led federal government.

Allegations of Anti-Party Conduct
According to the groups, Wike allegedly mocked the leadership of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, describing his emergence as a “mistake” and vowing that it would be “corrected” in 2027.
They argued that such comments, coming from a serving minister, amount to clear anti-party activities capable of weakening the APC’s political structure in Rivers State — a state they described as a strategic battleground for the party’s future electoral success.
“As a serving minister in an APC-led government, Wike’s actions amount to anti-party activities that weaken our hold on Rivers State,” the statement read, adding that the party could not afford internal sabotage ahead of future elections.

Alarm Over Alleged Threat to Presidential Authority
The APC leaders also expressed deep concern over Wike’s alleged remark that “nobody can enter Rivers State,” which they described as a direct affront to the authority of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Commander-in-Chief.
Akahi News gathered that the groups warned such a declaration could be interpreted as portraying Rivers State as a “no-go area,” a situation they said was dangerous and capable of inciting unrest.
They further cautioned that the statement evoked memories of past Niger Delta crises and could escalate tensions if left unchecked.
“Wike’s words are a direct attack on your presidency, suggesting he views himself above the law and the APC’s hierarchy,” the groups alleged.
Threat of Nationwide Protests
Escalating the pressure, the APC Leaders Forum and TSSM warned that protests would continue nationwide until Wike is relieved of his duties as FCT Minister.
They declared their intention to extend rallies beyond the APC National Secretariat to all states and local government areas across the country.
“Be informed that we shall proceed with this rally not only at the National Secretariat but across the length and breadth of this country — state by state, local government by local government — until Nyesom Wike is relieved of his appointment,” the statement said.
The groups insisted that their actions were in defence of the APC, President Tinubu’s leadership, and Nigeria’s unity.
Call for Swift Presidential Action
The rally, according to the organisers, was also held in solidarity with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru, and APC National Chairman, Prof. Abdullahi Yilwatda.
They urged President Tinubu to act decisively to protect party discipline and national stability.
“Sack Wike immediately to send a clear message that no individual is bigger than the party or the nation,” they appealed.
The statement was jointly signed by Chief Dr. Emeka Okoro, Dr. Adekunle Balogun, Alhaji Ibrahim Yusuf, and Mallam Abdulkareem Isiaka, who reaffirmed their loyalty to President Tinubu and their commitment to mobilising nationwide support for the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Akahi News will continue to monitor developments surrounding the controversy and provide updates as events unfold.
