APC South-West Re-elects Isaacs Kekemeke as National Vice Chairman, Pledges Support for 2027 Elections
The South-West chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has re-elected Isaacs Kekemeke as its National Vice Chairman for the zone, in a development that underscores the party’s unity in the region ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Zonal Congress and Consensus Elections
The re-election took place during the South-West Zonal Congress held at Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Onikan, Lagos, with a total of 3,188 delegates from the six South-West states participating. Party leaders opted for a consensus arrangement, which was ratified by voice vote, in line with the provisions of the 2026 Electoral Act, according to Jide Jimoh, Chairman of the Zonal Congress Committee.

- Femi Aluko – Secretary
- Lateef Ibirogba – Organising Secretary
- Ayo Afolabi – Publicity Secretary
- Adeduyi Daramola – Youth Leader
- Ismail Majaro – Legal Adviser
- Dayo Ishola – Representative of Persons with Disabilities

Governor Sanwo-Olu, speaking on behalf of the South-West governors, described the congress as peaceful and reflective of regional unity. He stated,
“Today, we have seen the conduct of a free and fair election, following the provisions of the 2026 Electoral Act. This congress shows that the South-West is united and a formidable political bloc.”
The APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, represented by the National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, congratulated the new executives and urged them to work diligently to ensure the party’s success in the 2027 elections.
In his remarks, Kekemeke expressed confidence in the party’s strength across the South-West, noting that the unity and experience of the zonal executives would enhance APC’s performance in the forthcoming general elections.
