Arsenal Star Max Dowman Honoured With Three Guinness World Records
Arsenal teenage sensation Max Dowman has received official recognition from Guinness World Records after his remarkable breakthrough season saw him establish three major records in English and European football.
The 16-year-old has been presented with three Guinness World Records certificates, confirming his status as the youngest player to win the Premier League, the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history and the youngest footballer to appear in the UEFA Champions League.

Dowman’s Three Guinness World Records
Dowman’s first record came in the UEFA Champions League when he represented Arsenal against Slavia Prague on 4 November 2025.
He was only 15 years and 308 days old when he came on as a second-half substitute during Arsenal’s 3-0 victory in Prague. Guinness World Records officially recognises him as the youngest player ever to appear in the Champions League.
The achievement was particularly significant because Dowman became the first 15-year-old to feature in the competition. He surpassed the previous record held by Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko.
Dowman subsequently set another historic mark in the Premier League when he scored against Everton on 14 March 2026.
At 16 years and 73 days, the Arsenal youngster produced a remarkable individual effort during the closing stages of the match to become the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history. Guinness World Records lists the record as officially belonging to Dowman.
His third record arrived as Arsenal completed their successful 2025/26 Premier League campaign.
Dowman was 16 years and 144 days old when Arsenal secured the league title, making him the youngest player to win the Premier League. The Premier League itself confirmed that he had surpassed the previous record held by Manchester City’s Phil Foden.
A Remarkable Rise Before His 17th Birthday
What makes Dowman’s achievements particularly striking is his age.
Born on 31 December 2009, the Arsenal academy graduate has already established himself among the most talked-about young footballers in England despite not yet reaching his 17th birthday.
His rapid progression has seen him move from academy football into the Arsenal first team, where he has continued to attract attention with his technical ability, confidence and willingness to take on experienced opponents.
His historic Premier League goal against Everton was not merely a record-breaking moment. Dowman also played an important role in the match by creating the opening goal before producing the individual run that ended with him scoring Arsenal’s second goal.
Another Record-Breaking Performance
Dowman’s development has continued into the 2026/27 season.
In September, he scored twice and provided an assist as Arsenal defeated Ipswich Town 4-2 in the Carabao Cup. His performance earned him the man-of-the-match award and further increased expectations surrounding his future at the club.
The teenager’s growing profile has also generated discussion about how Arsenal should manage his development.
With his age still a major factor, the club has to balance his obvious talent with the need to ensure that he receives the right amount of competitive football without being exposed to unnecessary pressure.
Guinness World Records’ Class of ’27
Dowman’s achievements have also earned him a place in Guinness World Records’ Football Edition 2027 Class of ’27.
He is featured alongside some of the biggest names and emerging stars in world football, including Lamine Yamal, Jude Bellingham, Erling Haaland, Cole Palmer and Kylian Mbappe.
Tom Beckerlegge, Senior Editor of the Guinness World Records Football Edition 2027, described Dowman as the youngest player on the list and highlighted the extraordinary nature of establishing three records before turning 17.
What Dowman’s Records Mean for Arsenal
For Arsenal, Dowman’s rise represents more than a collection of individual records.
The teenager is emerging at a time when the club is increasingly relying on the development of young players from its academy. His progress provides another example of the potential within Arsenal’s youth system.
However, record-breaking performances at such a young age can also create enormous expectations.
The challenge for Arsenal will be to ensure that Dowman’s development remains gradual and sustainable. His records have already placed him in football history, but his long-term success will ultimately depend on consistency, fitness, discipline and continued development.
A New Chapter Is Only Beginning
Dowman’s three Guinness World Records have formally documented an extraordinary beginning to his senior career.
At just 16, he has already won the Premier League, scored in the competition and appeared in the Champions League — achievements that many established professionals never accomplish throughout their careers.
His story, however, is still in its early stages.
The immediate question is no longer whether Max Dowman can make history. He already has.
The bigger question is how far the Arsenal youngster can go as he continues his journey towards becoming a fully established senior footballer.
For now, the three Guinness World Records certificates provide a remarkable snapshot of what has already been achieved — and a strong indication of why Dowman is regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in English football.
