Alhaji Ishola Adekunle Morufu, ATSO Governor, Leads Osun State Delegation to Ile-Ife for ATSO Most Brilliant Students Quiz Competition
Alhaji Ishola Adekunle Morufu, the esteemed ATSO Governor of Osun State, made a grand entrance into Ile-Ife for the highly anticipated ATSO Most Brilliant Students Quiz Competition, which took place on Saturday, the 6th of April, 2024. The event witnessed a vibrant display of academic prowess and communal spirit as students showcased their knowledge and skills in a competitive environment.

The ATSO Governor and his team from the capital city of Osogbo were warmly received by Mr. Adedoyin Ademola, Chairman of the ATSO IFE Chapter and Treasurer of ATSO Osun State. This gesture of hospitality underscored the unity and camaraderie within the ATSO community, transcending geographical boundaries for the collective advancement of education in the state.
In his address to the students, the ATSO Governor exhorted them to excel in their academic pursuits and become ambassadors of their tutorial coordinators’ dedication and commitment. Emphasizing the noble purpose of tutorial schools, he reiterated that they serve as centers for effective grooming, preparing students to confront any external examination with confidence and integrity.
“The tutorial school is not a haven for cheating, but a crucible where students are molded to excel in examinations, whether local or international,” remarked the Governor, highlighting the ethical foundation upon which the ATSO ethos rests.
Commending the ATSO Ife Chapter for their exemplary organization and execution of the ATSO Most Brilliant Students Quiz Competition, the Governor humorously remarked that “Ile-Ife is the cradle of all,” teasingly suggesting that other tutorial centers in the state could learn a thing or two from the Ife Chapter’s stellar performance.
With a fervent desire for Osun State students to lead in the forthcoming UTME examinations and clinch the prestigious ATSO national award of a brand-new car, the Governor rallied the students to rise to the occasion and embrace the challenge with determination and diligence.
Quoting an ancient adage, the Governor reminded the students that “if you fail to prepare, you have prepared to fail,” underscoring the importance of thorough preparation and unwavering commitment to success.
Echoing similar sentiments, Mr. Adetunji Akanbi, the State ATSO Secretary, reinforced the message of perseverance and resilience, asserting that “failure is an orphan while success has many parents.” He urged all students in the state to buckle down and prepare rigorously for the upcoming examinations, emphasizing that success is not a matter of chance but a product of deliberate effort and perseverance.
Addressing the candidates selected for the ATSO Most Brilliant Students Quiz in the Ife Chapter, Mr. Akanbi urged them to adopt a mindset of determination and self-belief, encapsulated in the mantra “I will succeed.” He exhorted them to remain steadfast in their pursuit of excellence, reminding them that success is a choice and a consequence of disciplined preparation.
The highlight of the event was the announcement of the top-performing students, with Elegbede Usman Ishola of Akahi Tutors emerging as the overall winner with an impressive score of 340 marks. Nicholas Akintunde from Apex Tutors secured the second position with 318 marks, while Adedapo Samuel Oluwatobi of Dammy Solutions Tutors clinched the third position with 312 marks.
In recognition of their outstanding achievements, cash prizes totaling #100,000, #70,000, and #50,000 were awarded to the first, second, and third-place winners respectively, underscoring ATSO’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and rewarding exceptional performance.
