Members of the zonal chapter expressed appreciation to delegates who represented Ile-Ife at the national election. The house commended them for what was described as doggedness, courage, and selflessness.

In strong terms, members emphasised that the representatives maintained an uncompromising stance in defence of ATSO’s unity and progress. Echoing the association’s long-standing motto centred on leadership, integrity, and advancement, the meeting noted that the integrity of members of the Ile-Ife Zonal Chapter remains non-negotiable.

Observers say such public affirmation of delegates reflects an effort to maintain cohesion at the grassroots level following recent national developments.

Preparations Begin for Ile-Ife Zonal Elections

Beyond national matters, attention shifted to internal zonal politics as members discussed the forthcoming ATSO Ile-Ife Zonal Chapter Elections.

The meeting resolved that:

Members noted that the decision was taken to ensure seriousness among aspirants while also generating administrative support for the electoral process.

Analysts within the association argue that structured financial commitments for nomination forms often serve as both a screening mechanism and a means of promoting accountability in professional bodies. However, stakeholders also emphasised the need for inclusivity to ensure that capable members are not discouraged from participation.

Welfare and Compliance Task Force Established

Another key resolution of the meeting was the unanimous decision to set up a combined welfare and task force committee.

Prominent members, alongside the executive council, were mandated to:

The move is seen as both supportive and regulatory. On one hand, it seeks to promote solidarity and welfare among members; on the other, it introduces stricter oversight to ensure professional standards are maintained.

The meeting stated unequivocally that the visiting team, headed by the Chairman and Secretary, may visit any recognised tutorial centre at any time without prior notification.

Education stakeholders interpret this as a strong signal that the association intends to tighten internal discipline while promoting standardisation across centres.

Proposed Official Apron for Identity and Visibility

In a bid to enhance identity and public visibility, members recommended the introduction of a customised apron bearing the inscription “ATSO ILE-IFE CHAPTER.”

The Association Secretary, Mr Joseph Iyaji, Director of Akahi Tutors, Ile-Ife, alongside the Chairman, Mr Adedoyin Ademola, volunteered to investigate the cost implications and feasibility of the proposal.

Supporters of the initiative believe branded materials could strengthen unity and foster a sense of collective belonging among operators within the zone.

A Meeting Focused on Stability and Forward Planning

From national election updates to local electoral preparations and compliance enforcement, Thursday’s meeting demonstrated a chapter seeking stability and structure amid wider association dynamics.

Observers note that professional associations thrive when grassroots chapters remain organised, transparent, and proactive. The Ile-Ife Zonal Chapter’s emphasis on unity, welfare, accountability, and operational standards suggests a deliberate effort to position the zone as disciplined and forward-looking.

As the zonal elections approach and the welfare task force begins its operations, members and stakeholders will be watching closely to see how these resolutions translate into measurable progress for tutorial education within the Ile-Ife axis.
