The governor of Ogun state, Dapo Abiodun, has granted approval for the full reopening of hotels, viewing centres, marquees, event centres, suites, guest houses, motels, and establishments providing accommodation, for Tourists or Entertainment, Restaurants, Eateries, Fast Food, Lounges, Bars, and Cinemas in the State. In March, the governor order the closure of public places including churches, markets, hotels and others as part of measures to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the state. As the cases began to reduce in Nigeria, he announced the reopening of only worship centres and schools subject to guidelines of the safety measures. However, in a statement released today Wednesday, October 28, by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, the Governor said the religious centres and other public places have been granted permission to open fully following successful taming of COVID-19.''Government is aware of the excruciating implications of COVID-19 lockdown but we have emplaced measures and improved on testing to stem the tide. Empirical field research indicates that we have managed to stem community spread and treatment of the virus very well. We are convinced that opening of schools and entertainment centres would not harm our people.
