Edo Governor Directs 360 Campaign Billboards for Tinubu’s 2027 Re-Election in Edo State

In a clear show of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has instructed all 18 local government chairmen in the state to put up a total of 360 campaign billboards promoting the President’s re-election bid.

The directive was issued on Friday, January 30, during the inauguration of the Edo State chapter of the National Renewed Hope Initiative (NRHI), a group established to advance President Tinubu’s agenda and policies nationwide.

Governor Okpebholo directed that each local government area should display 20 billboards to ensure the President’s message reaches local communities, religious centres, schools, and other institutions.

Speaking at the event, the governor lauded President Tinubu’s reforms in sectors such as petroleum, security, education, and the economy. He emphasised that the performance of the current administration makes the President irreplaceable.

“It is not just about the agenda; it is about the ability to mobilize. The Edo people are ready. Nobody can beat Asiwaju’s record in governance. We cannot replace a man who is performing,” Governor Okpebholo said.

He expressed optimism that citizens of all ages in Edo State would support the President’s re-election, noting that with 30 All Progressives Congress (APC) governors nationwide, the groundwork for victory in 2027 is already strong.

Renewed Hope Initiative Launches Coordinators

The Edo State Coordinator of the NRHI, Sylvester Aigboboh, inaugurated senatorial, local government, and youth coordinators for President Tinubu’s 2027 campaign. He charged them to actively promote the policies and achievements of the Tinubu administration and to intensify grassroots mobilization.

The initiative aims to strengthen party outreach, promote good governance, and consolidate what it terms the Renewed Hope Agenda. The appointed ambassadors are expected to serve as links between the government, the APC, and the grassroots, while fostering unity and inclusiveness within the party.

Leadership Across Senatorial Districts

The three senatorial leaders of the NRHI in Edo State include Joshua Uwagboe for Edo South, Hon. Odinose Okojie for Edo Central, and Hon. Abdul Lawani for Edo North. In addition, 18 coordinators have been appointed to oversee activities across the state’s local government areas. Each senatorial district also has three youth coordinators tasked with mobilizing younger voters.

The NRHI’s activities reflect a strategic move by the Edo State government to ensure that President Tinubu’s achievements and policies resonate at the grassroots level ahead of the 2027 elections. Akahi News gathered that the initiative plans to roll out further programmes aimed at engaging communities, religious institutions, and local organisations in the months leading to the election.

By taking these steps, Governor Okpebholo and the NRHI aim to cement Edo State as a key stronghold for President Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
