Governor Otu Reverses Some Social Media Appointments, Confirms Others

The Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu, has announced a revision of certain recent appointments, particularly those involving social media platform handlers.
In a statement released on Thursday by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Anthony Owan Enoh, Akahi News gathered that the Governor ordered the suspension of some appointments after a careful review. He directed that those specific roles be stepped down until further notice.
Confirmed Media Appointees
Despite the revision, Governor Otu confirmed several key appointments within the media and communications team. The confirmed appointees include:
- Ms. Imani Odey – Special Adviser, Electronic Media
- Mr. Andrea Ekeng – Senior Special Assistant, New Media
- Mr. Nathaniel Otaba – Senior Special Assistant, Communication
- Mr. Oqua Etim – Special Assistant, ICT
- Mr. Daniel Williams – Special Assistant, Photography
- Mr. Godswill Ekpe – Special Assistant, Cinematography
Additional Media and Public Affairs Roles
Other approved appointments are as follows:
- Ms. Beatrice Akpala – Special Adviser, Content Development and Archiving
- Mr. Friday Awade – Senior Special Assistant, Media Advocacy
- Ms. Phylo Modlin Odu – Senior Special Assistant, Tactical Media Research and Engagement
- Mr. Saviour Etim Asuquo – Special Assistant, Content Development
- Ms. Antan Okor – Special Assistant, Public Orientation
