Facilitated by Mr. Abraham Kadiri, a business development strategist with rich experience in pharmaceutical field operations, and Pharm. Osora, a seasoned production pharmacist with a firm grasp of market dynamics, the sessions explored the evolving nature of the Nigerian pharmaceutical sector and how to bring to limelight the role Engr. Obinna Onwunali, a young pharmaceutical entrepreneur and founder of both Nalis and HealthSpring, is playing in the industry.
The facilitators delivered detailed presentations on how to leverage data-driven selling, adapt marketing strategies to diverse healthcare environments, and build long-term professional relationships with healthcare providers, pharmacy chains, and hospital procurement teams.
One of the critical focus areas was the comprehensive breakdown of Nalis Pharmaceuticals’ product portfolio. The facilitators highlighted the unique selling propositions (USPs) of key brands, emphasizing therapeutic efficacy, optimal dosing regimens, favorable safety profiles, and competitive advantages over similar molecules in the market. Nalis’ flagship products include Nalovite (a multivitamin and mineral supplement for general wellness), Antacid Suspension (for rapid relief from hyperacidity and heartburn), Lumaforce (an Artemisinin combination therapy for the treatment of uncomplicated malaria),Cakafen (an effective mucolytic), and other antitissuvies; effective for productive cough produced by Nalis Pharmaceutical, Ltd(coisine expectorant, prytune expectorant etc), Veelam(an analgesic/decongestive formula). Other notable products include Ferrous Sulfate (for iron deficiency anemia), Ibuprofen Suspension and Paracetamol Syrup (for pediatric pain and fever management), Prytune Syrup (for treatment of allergies, cold), amongst others.

A major revelation during the training was that Nalis Pharmaceuticals Ltd is currently the only GMP-certified pharmaceutical manufacturing company operating in Imo and Abia States. This certification underscores the company’s unwavering commitment to producing high-quality medicines that meet both National and International regulatory standards. The products are formulated with precisely calibrated Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and exhibit dissolution profiles that ensure maximum bioavailability and therapeutic outcomes—key elements that appeal to prescribers and patients alike.

Beyond technical knowledge, the training also focused on soft skills such as communication, customer relationship management, objection handling, and ethical promotion practices. Sales Representatives were encouraged to adopt a consultative approach in their engagements, focusing on value delivery rather than transactional selling, and to act as trusted advisors within their healthcare ecosystems.

This initiative forms part of HealthSpring’s broader mission to align its human resource capabilities with its strategic growth goals. By empowering its sales force with the right tools, knowledge, and mindset, the company is positioning itself to not only grow its market share but also to strengthen its reputation as a reliable partner in Nigeria’s healthcare sector. HealthSpring Pharmaceuticals plans to replicate similar training programs in other regions, reinforcing its 2025 vision of being at the forefront of pharmaceutical marketing and ethical healthcare promotion nationwide.
