Holy Childhood Association Honours Rev. Fr Peter Adeyemi at 25th Priestly Anniversary Thanksgiving

The Holy Childhood Association of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Pro-Cathedral Church, Lagere, Ile-Ife, lavished heartfelt tributes on Rev. Fr Peter Adeyemi as he marked his 25th Priestly Anniversary Thanksgiving on Sunday, 3rd August 2025.

The joyous event, held in the Church Hall shortly after the Thanksgiving Mass, brought together children, parishioners, clergy, and well-wishers to celebrate a man they described as “a father, mentor, and shepherd after God’s own heart.” The Holy Childhood Association, known for nurturing young Catholics in faith and discipline, led the emotional moment with chants, drama, and affectionate words dedicated to the celebrant.

Speaking on behalf of the group, a young representative expressed gratitude for Fr Adeyemi’s unwavering love for children and his tireless efforts in promoting their spiritual growth. “He listens to us, he prays for us, he teaches us about Jesus—and most importantly, he loves us like a true father,” she said to thunderous applause.

The anniversary celebration continued with performances from various church groups, reflecting the unity and affection that Rev. Fr Adeyemi has fostered throughout his years of priestly service.

In his response, Fr Adeyemi, visibly moved by the outpouring of love, thanked the children and the entire parish community for their prayers, support, and generosity, reaffirming his commitment to serve faithfully.
