The entire community of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Pro-Cathedral, Lagere, Ile-Ife have entered into celebration mood as preparation towards the 25th Priestly Ordination Anniversary of the Parish Priest accelerates. Very Revd Fr Dr Peter Peter Oluseyi Adeyemi is one of four Priests attaining the length of 25 years as a Catholic Priest in Osogbo Diocese. Just like yesterday, Fr Peter Adeyemi, together with Frs Martin Obiyemi, Stevenson Olowolagba and Pius Odediran were ordained Catholic priests 28 July 2000. The four will be celebrated by Osogbo diocese 28 July 2025. In view of this, Lagere community, including the outstations of SS Peter & Paul will host Fr Adeyemi to a memorable event on August 3 at the Parish on his anniversary thanksgiving Mass. Leading to the event was the 25th Anniversary Media Chats organised by the Parish Social Communication’s Commission, held Saturday 19 July where parishioners were privileged to ask pressing questions about him and his administration so far. Fr Adeyemi however as usual kept appreciating Parish Community for their unwavering supports since he took over administration. He recently encouraged Christians to take up the challenging responsibility of becoming a good Samaritan – who offers assistance without counting the cost. Though he accepted that it is very hard to do; knowing that, preaching about it is very easy than acting a good Samaritan, however not impossible, despite the crosses surrounding it. He further educates that the person requiring assistance is not restricted to strangers alone, but also familiar people and families. Having recalled how himself and fellow Priest were rejected by different congregations of priestly family on the road, earlier in his priestly carrier when his got involved in a fatal accident that absolutely disintegrates his car, despite waving to them drenched by blood, he concluded that one should not misinterpret a good Samaritan to pastors alone in order not to be disappointed.
