Rising Concerns Over Domestic Violence and Drug Abuse

Akahi News gathered that Kano State, Nigeria’s most populous state, has recorded increasing incidents of violent crimes within families in recent years. Security experts and community leaders have attributed this worrying trend to drug abuse, mental health challenges, and the growing economic hardship affecting households.

Civil society groups and health professionals have repeatedly warned that the rising use of illicit substances among youths in the state continues to fuel violent behaviour and domestic disputes, sometimes with tragic consequences.
