Morning Reflection with Rev. Fr Peter Adeyemi: A Call to Begin the Day with Prayer and Gratitude
By Joseph Iyaji | Akahi News
As the sun rises on this Wednesday, 24th September 2025, Rev. Fr Peter Adeyemi has urged the faithful to embrace the new day with hearts full of gratitude, minds attuned to God’s presence, and lives committed to compassion and peace.

Delivering his morning reflection, Fr Adeyemi reminded Christians that each new day is a divine gift — a testament to God’s unfailing love and providence guiding the course of human life.
Beginning the Day with Praise and Thanksgiving
Fr Adeyemi opened his message with a prayer of praise:
“O God, open our lips and our mouths will announce your praise. Incline to our aid, O Lord, and make haste to help us. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.”
He explained that starting the day with thanksgiving helps believers acknowledge God’s goodness and invites divine blessings into their plans and activities.
“Every new day,” he said, “is a proof of God’s love for His creatures and evidence of His divine providence at work in our lives.”
A Call to Inner Renewal and Compassion
The Parish Priest of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Pro-Cathedral, Lagere, Ile-Ife, further encouraged Christians to begin the day with spiritual renewal, asking God for a newness of mind and heart that allows them to see Christ in others and approach life with humility.
“Teach us to see you present in all people,” he prayed. “Give us the grace to see the good in others while we remain conscious of our own shortcomings. May our lives today be filled with your compassion.”
According to Akahi News findings, Fr Adeyemi stressed that compassion towards others reflects God’s love in action and opens doors to peace and harmony in personal and communal life.
Prayer for Guidance, Prosperity, and Peace
As the day’s activities unfold, Fr Adeyemi offered prayers for divine direction, protection, and fruitfulness in business, work, and family life.
“Eternal God, as we go out this day for our businesses and official duties, direct us in the paths of peace, prosperity, joy, comfort, and progress,” he prayed. “Lift us above our problems and difficulties. As we work, may our labours not be in vain.”
He concluded by invoking God’s blessings on the intentions of all who joined in the prayer, trusting that divine providence will accompany every step taken today.
Living the Day with Faith and Hope
Fr Adeyemi’s reflection for this morning serves as a gentle reminder that no matter the challenges ahead, believers can face each day with renewed faith, hope, and gratitude when they begin with God at the centre of their plans.
