Motorcycle Hit by Truck in Ile-Ife: Owner Receives Compensation After Incident Resolved

A hit-and-run incident involving a parked motorcycle along Oduduwa College Road in Ile-Ife has been successfully resolved after the truck responsible was traced, and the owner received compensation.

Akahi News gathered that the motorcycle was damaged when a heavy truck, operating with a police escort, collided with it in front of a residential property. The truck drove off without stopping, prompting the owner to pursue it to a nearby loading site.

Upon tracing the vehicle, both the driver and police escort were identified. Negotiation with the driver led to a payment of #15,000 to cover the damages, and the truck’s plate number was documented during the resolution process.

The incident highlights the challenges faced by residents in busy areas when heavy commercial vehicles operate alongside private homes. Akahi News learnt that identifying the responsible vehicle can be extremely difficult in locations where multiple trucks operate in convoys, many with police escorts.
