Ile-Ife, Nigeria – July 23, 2025 – The management of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has officially opened the registration portal for the 2025/2026 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) screening, with a clarion call to all Pre-Degree and JUPEB candidates to participate in this critical step toward securing admission into one of Nigeria’s most prestigious institutions. Bakare, the university emphasized that candidates who selected OAU as their first-choice institution in the 2025 UTME and scored a minimum of 200 are eligible to apply. This directive extends to participants of OAU’s Pre-Degree and JUPEB programs, whose data will be collated by the Centre for Distance Learning (CDL) to facilitate seamless registration. The announcement underscores OAU’s commitment to ensuring an inclusive and accessible admission process for all qualified applicants.

Eligibility and Requirements
To qualify for the Post-UTME screening, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum score of 200 in the 2025 UTME, with OAU as their first-choice institution.
  • A General Certificate of Education (or equivalent) with credit passes in at least five subjects, including English Language, obtained in no more than two sittings. For candidates in faculties other than Arts, Law, and Bachelor of Arts in Education, a credit pass in Mathematics is mandatory.
  • Pre-Degree and JUPEB candidates must ensure their results are uploaded to the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) portal, aligning their chosen course with their program of study.

The screening exercise, set to take place online from September 1 to September 5, 2025, eliminates the need for physical presence, reflecting OAU’s adoption of innovative, technology-driven solutions to enhance accessibility. Candidates are required to check their screening schedules on the OAU admissions portal (https://admissions.oauife.edu.ng) starting Thursday, August 27, 2025.

Application Process and Guidelines
The registration process is streamlined for efficiency and convenience:

  1. Visit the OAU admissions portal at https://admissions.oauife.edu.ng.
  2. Log in using your JAMB Registration Number as the username and your surname (in lowercase) as the password.
  3. Complete the biodata form with accurate personal and academic details.
  4. Generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) and make a payment of ₦2,000 (excluding portal access charges) via online platforms or at any commercial bank.
  5. Upload required documents, including a recent passport photograph (JPEG format, not exceeding 50KB), O’Level results, and JAMB result slip.
  6. Preview and submit the application, then print the acknowledgment slip, which includes the screening schedule.

OAU has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy for falsified results or examination malpractice, warning that candidates who provide inaccurate information or upload incorrect credentials will face automatic disqualification. Pre-Degree students have the option to sit for the Post-UTME examination, but registration on the portal remains mandatory for all.
