“All the traditional title holders, you have work to do. You have many roles to play. Do not snatch people’s wives and lands,” he said, drawing applause from the audience. “I hope you are all listening to me. That is not your role.”

He further described Ibadan as a unifying city for all Yoruba people, saying, “Any Yoruba who has no house in Ibadan is yet to have a house. I am happy for the life of our governor; all Ibadan indigenes are the sons and daughters of Ibadanland.”

Assurance of Peace in Ibadan

Addressing concerns about potential unrest, Oba Ladoja dismissed fears of crisis in the city, assuring residents that peace has been restored.

“Some people thought Ibadan will be in crisis. We have settled it. Ibadan has only one room but different windows. We settle things by ourselves,” he declared.

Commitment to Public Service

The monarch concluded his speech by expressing gratitude to the coronation committee and pledging to serve the people of Ibadan, Nigeria, and Africa at large.

“God still wants me to work more for the people of Ibadanland, Nigeria, and Africa. I will continue to work for the people,” he affirmed.
