Osogbo Catholic Diocese Celebrates Four Priests on Their 3rd Anniversary of Priestly Ordination

The entire Osogbo Catholic Diocese is aglow with thanksgiving and celebration as four of its beloved priests—Rev. Fr. Anthony Akinlawon, Rev. Fr. Pius Olubiyi, Rev. Fr. Vincent Ekeneme, and Rev. Fr. Julius Olarenwaju—mark the third anniversary of their priestly ordination.

These men of God, ordained into the sacred priesthood three years ago, have since demonstrated a deep sense of vocation, selfless service, and spiritual leadership across their various apostolates. With dedication and humility, they have ministered to the faithful, preached the Word with power, and administered the sacraments with reverence and joy.

As we celebrate this milestone, we recall the words of our Lord Jesus Christ: “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last” (John 15:16). Indeed, the fruits of their ministry are evident in the lives they have touched, the souls they have guided, and the hope they have rekindled in countless hearts.

The priesthood is not merely a title, but a call to daily self-offering and holiness. These four priests have answered that call with courage and commitment. As St. Paul reminds us, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” (Romans 10:15). Their footsteps have brought the light of Christ to both rural and urban communities, especially in times when many sought direction and spiritual solace.

In these three years, they have embraced the words of Jesus: “Feed my sheep” (John 21:17). Whether through the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, the ministry of reconciliation, catechesis, youth formation, or community outreach, their service continues to bear witness to the mercy and love of Christ.

We are reminded of St. Paul’s charge to Timothy, which echoes clearly in their lives: “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction” (2 Timothy 4:2).

As they celebrate this joyful anniversary, we give thanks to God for the gift of their lives and vocations. The entire diocese prays for their continued strength, wisdom, and fidelity to the mission entrusted to them. May the fire of the Holy Spirit continue to burn brightly in their hearts.

Congratulations, dear Fathers, on your 3rd Priestly Anniversary!
