The drive toward Nigeria’s 2027 general elections is gaining momentum, as the latest data from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reveals that 1,710,450 Nigerians completed their voter registration—both online and physical—between October 13 and 17, 2025.
According to figures sighted by Akahi News, Osun State leads the voter registration tally with a remarkable 151,593 completed registrations, placing it ahead of all other states in the federation. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) followed with 106,855, while Kano State ranked third with 96,280 new voters.

INEC also noted that voter registration in Anambra State remains suspended until after the state’s upcoming governorship election scheduled for November 8, 2025.
