Prophet Odumeje Declares Limited Time on Earth, Says No One Will See His Corpse

By Joseph Iyaji | Akahi News

The General Overseer of the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, Onitsha, Prophet Chukwuemeka Cyril Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has sparked widespread debate following a startling revelation about his life, ministry, and eventual departure from the world.

Speaking during a recent church service, Prophet Odumeje declared that his time on earth was drawing to a close and that when his mission ended, no one would ever see his remains.

“I’m the strongest spiritual man in the world after the general, Emmanuel TB Joshua. We are not many—just two. One has finished his assignment and has returned home. Remaining is the Lion Himself, the dead man. I don’t have much time to spend here. Nobody will see my corpse,” he said, stressing that his ministry was about fulfilling a divine mandate, not earthly longevity.

‘One God, One Power, and That Man Is Jesus Christ’

Prophet Odumeje further explained that the foundation of his ministry was to reaffirm faith in Jesus Christ and dispel doubts about God’s power.

“Our mission is to clear your doubt about Jesus Christ. Our mission is one God and one power, and that man is Jesus Christ,” he declared passionately, emphasising that his work on earth is solely dedicated to glorifying God.

The preacher’s statement drew comparisons with the late Prophet TB Joshua, founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), who passed away in 2021 after decades of global evangelism and humanitarian work.

A Ministry Shrouded in Drama and Mystery

Known for his flamboyant style, dramatic preaching methods, and unusual self-descriptions such as “the liquid metal,” “the war,” and “the indaboski bahose,” Prophet Odumeje has long been a controversial figure in Nigeria’s Pentecostal landscape.

His unconventional deliverance methods, bold prophecies, and daring public statements have divided opinions, with some hailing him as a powerful man of God and others criticising his approach as overly theatrical.

This latest declaration about his limited time on earth and the mystery surrounding his final days has once again propelled him into the spotlight, with reactions pouring in from across social media platforms.

Reactions Across Nigeria

Akahi News gathered that while some of his followers interpreted the statement as a spiritual mystery reflecting biblical figures like Elijah—who, according to scripture, was taken up to heaven without seeing death—others dismissed it as a publicity stunt designed to draw attention to his ministry.

The declaration has nonetheless sparked discussions on faith, mortality, and the legacies of controversial religious leaders in Nigeria’s vibrant Pentecostal movement.

The Road Ahead

As Prophet Odumeje continues to lead his ministry amid growing curiosity about his prophecy, religious scholars and Christian leaders are calling for cautious interpretation of such statements, reminding believers to focus on spiritual growth rather than sensationalism.

For now, the preacher remains resolute in his mission, maintaining that his life’s work is about glorifying Jesus Christ and preparing believers for eternal life—no matter how long or short his earthly journey may be.
