Adding to the pain of her passing was the fact that Ruth had just graduated from Auchi Polytechnic a few days before the accident, marking what was meant to be the beginning of a bright future. Instead, it became a heartbreaking memory for the family as they buried their loved one less than a month later.
An Emotional Farewell
The funeral was attended by friends, family, and a number of ex-BBNaija housemates, including Christy O and Groovy, who turned up in solidarity to support Phyna in her moment of grief. Dressed in black, mourners paid their last respects with teary eyes and heavy hearts as tributes flowed for the young woman whose life ended too soon.
Phyna, visibly shattered by the loss, stood surrounded by loved ones as the final rites were performed. She had earlier appealed for privacy as the family tried to process the shocking incident, noting the emotional toll it had taken on them.

Fans and Colleagues Express Condolences
Following the tragic news, fans and colleagues took to social media to express their condolences, with many describing Ruth as a vibrant young woman full of dreams. The reality TV star also received messages of support from prominent figures in the entertainment industry, with calls for improved road safety measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
Calls for Road Safety Reforms
Ruth’s passing has once again drawn attention to the rising cases of road accidents involving heavy-duty vehicles in Nigeria. Advocacy groups and concerned citizens are calling on government agencies to tighten road safety regulations, particularly for commercial trucks, to save lives and reduce such avoidable deaths.
As Ruth was laid to rest, family members and sympathisers expressed hopes that her tragic death would become a wake-up call for authorities to prioritise the safety of road users across the country.
