Rev. Fr Peter Adeyemi Leads Faithful in Evening Prayer of Gratitude and Light, 25th July 2025

In a heartfelt evening message delivered on Thursday, 25th July 2025, Rev. Fr Peter Adeyemi, the Parish Priest of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Pro-Cathedral Church, Lagere, Ile-Ife, offered a prayerful reflection that stirred both gratitude and spiritual renewal among the faithful.

Opening with a scriptural invocation — “Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth” — Fr Adeyemi expressed deep thanks to God for what he described as a “fruitful and successful working week.” He led his community in acknowledging the protection and safety granted by the Almighty, saying, “All we have to say is thank you Lord.”

Turning to Christ, whom he called “the light of the world that shines in the darkness which darkness cannot overcome,” the priest prayed for the grace to imitate Jesus by becoming true beacons of light in a darkened world.

Fr Adeyemi also implored God’s mercy, quoting the Psalmist: “If you, O Lord, should mark our guilt, no one will live.” He asked for forgiveness and restoration through restful sleep, so that believers may rise renewed in strength and commitment to serve the Lord wholeheartedly.
