Senate Confirms Agbaje Opeyemi Olukayode as PENCOM Chairman, Other Key Appointments Approved

The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday confirmed Mr. Agbaje Opeyemi Olukayode, representing the South West Zone, as the new Chairman of the National Pension Commission (PENCOM). The adoption of the committee’s report was presented by Senator Cyril Fasuyi (APC, Ekiti North) during plenary, who noted that the PENCOM Director-General, Omolara Oloworaran, had already assumed duties following her confirmation by the Senate in 2024.

During the plenary session, Deputy Senate President Senator Jibrin Barau, who presided over proceedings, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his selections. He described the nominees as highly qualified professionals expected to add significant value to PENCOM’s operations.
