Speaking on the Church’s position regarding divorce, the Irabors emphasized that according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, divorce is not permitted. However, they noted that the Church recognizes the processes of separation and annulment, particularly in cases where a marriage may have been entered under false pretenses.

“Young people should not rush into marriage,” Mrs. Irabor warned, adding, “Marriage is a covenant, not a contract. It demands commitment, communication, and proper understanding.”

The couple also advised that no individual should be pressured or coerced into marriage, stressing the importance of personal readiness and spiritual preparedness.
