Where can candidates register?

Registration is online via the University of Ibadan’s admission portal. The exact portal address has not been provided in this announcement, but candidates should watch the university’s official website.

Why is this announcement important?

Because missing the registration deadline means losing the chance to gain admission into the University of Ibadan for the 2026/2027 session. There is no extension – the Registrar has made that clear. Every year, many candidates miss the deadline and lose their admission opportunity.

How can candidates ensure they complete registration successfully?

By acting early. Do not wait until the last day – the portal may crash due to high traffic. Ensure you have all required documents and payment ready before starting.

5 key takeaways from the UI Post-UTME announcement.

1. Registration is only open for less than a month – 22 June to 19 July. Candidates have approximately 28 days to register. That is a short window. Late registration will not be accepted.

2. The CBT examination is scheduled for three days – 27 to 29 July. Candidates must check their specific exam date and time on the portal. Do not assume you know your schedule – confirm it.

3. The Registrar’s warning is clear: no extension. The University is strict about deadlines. Do not test the system. Register early to avoid last-minute errors.

4. Direct Entry candidates are also required to register during this period. DE candidates often think they are exempt from Post-UTME. They are not. They must also complete the registration.

5. The examination is CBT – candidates must be prepared for computer-based testing. If you have never used a computer for exams, practice before the date. The University will not allow complaints about computer illiteracy.

How this affects candidates.

i. Thousands of candidates will compete for limited slots. UI is one of Nigeria’s most competitive universities. Post-UTME performance is critical.

ii. Late registration could disqualify you permanently. There is no leniency. If you miss the deadline, your admission dream ends.

iii. The portal may experience high traffic. Many candidates will register on the first and last days. The portal may slow down or crash. Register mid-period to avoid frustration.

iv. CBT preparation is essential. You cannot use pen and paper – you must use a computer. Practice with past questions in CBT format.

v. Be financially prepared. The registration fee is not mentioned in this announcement. But UI typically charges a fee. Ensure you have the funds ready before registration opens.

Advice from this analyst.

1. To candidates: do not wait until the last day. Register as soon as the portal opens – by 22 June. That way, if you face technical issues, you have time to resolve them.

2. To candidates: check your UTME score. Ensure you meet the University’s cut-off mark. If you do not, do not waste time and money – consider other institutions.

3. To candidates: practice CBT past questions. UI’s Post-UTME is competitive. Your performance determines your admission chances.

4. To parents: support your children during this period. Help them with registration, payment, and logistics.

5. To the University: ensure the portal works efficiently. Candidates should not face technical glitches that prevent registration.

A question to make you reflect.

If the University of Ibadan gives candidates less than a month to register for Post-UTME – and warns there will be no extension – how many candidates will still miss the deadline?

The honest answer is: too many. Every year, candidates miss deadlines. They assume there will be an extension. They assume the system will be forgiving. It will not. UI is strict. The deadline is final. The candidates who succeed will be the ones who plan ahead.

Akahi News gathered that University of Ibadan Post-UTME registration opens on 22 June 2026. The deadline is 19 July 2026 – no extension. The CBT exam holds from 27 to 29 July 2026. Candidates who miss the deadline lose their admission chance for the 2026/2027 session. Register early. Practice CBT. Do not wait.
