University of Ibadan Announces 2025/2026 Post-UTME and Direct Entry Screening Registration

The University of Ibadan (UI) has officially released details for its 2025/2026 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise, inviting all eligible candidates to register between Monday, 21 July 2025 and Saturday, 17 August 2025. The institution has emphasised that there will be no extension of the registration deadline, making it crucial for applicants to complete their applications within the stipulated period.
Eligibility Criteria for UI 2025/2026 Post-UTME
Only candidates who selected the University of Ibadan as their first choice in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored 200 or above are eligible to participate.
For Direct Entry applicants, only candidates with approved qualifications such as WAEC, NECO, Cambridge A-Level, NCE, OND, HND, or recognised degree certificates can apply. The university does not accept IJMB or JUPEP qualifications.
Additionally, candidates seeking admission into the College of Medicine and Faculty of Pharmacy must have five (5) credits in one sitting in relevant O’level subjects. Other programmes may accept two sittings, but with a minimum of six (6) credits in relevant subjects.
Applicants must also meet the minimum age requirement of 16 years by 30 September 2025.
UI Post-UTME/Direct Entry Registration Procedure
All candidates are required to log on to the UI Admission Portal via https://www.admissions.ui.edu.ng using their JAMB Registration Number as their username and their surname as their initial password.
A portal access fee of ₦3,000 and a screening fee of ₦2,000 (total ₦5,000) must be paid through the admission portal in favour of the University of Ibadan.
Payment options include:
- Card Payment – Using a credit/debit ATM card.
- Bank Transfer – Direct payment via internet banking.
- Bank Branch Payment – Paying cash at the bank with a print-out from the portal.
Upon successful payment, candidates must print their payment receipt for record purposes.
UI 2025/2026 Post-UTME Examination Dates
The screening examination will be conducted from Monday, 25 August 2025 to Wednesday, 27 August 2025.
The exact date and schedule for each candidate will be communicated via their registered email addresses and phone numbers. The University has warned that it will not be responsible for any missed information due to invalid or inactive contact details.
Important Notes for Applicants
- Direct Entry candidates must upload all credentials to ugadmissions@stu.ui.edu.ng.
- Applicants are advised to carefully read and comply with all registration guidelines to avoid disqualification.
- The list of matriculating subjects and UTME/O’level requirements for each programme can be accessed via the official UI admission portal.
